Experience Baby™ Infant Curriculum at Scribbles Learning Center
At Scribbles Learning Center, we understand that the first year of life lays the foundation for all future learning. That's why we proudly implement the Experience Baby™ curriculum-an intentional, responsive, and research-based program designed specifically for infants ages 0 to 18 months. Rooted in developmental science and infused with meaningful caregiver-child interactions, Experience Baby nurtures early learning through exploration, connection, and care.
What is Experience Baby?
Experience Baby is part of the Experience Early Learning™ system (formerly Mother Goose Time), designed to support infants' growth in five key areas: social-emotional, language and communication, physical development, cognitive skills, and sensory exploration. Each day is thoughtfully planned around baby-appropriate themes, guided play, and individual routines to promote learning at a gentle, natural pace.
How It Works in Our Infant Room
Our infant educators use the Experience Baby materials to create a warm, nurturing environment where every moment is an opportunity to support your child's development. We follow each infant's unique schedule, needs, and cues-integrating activities like:
Tummy time with purpose, using soft materials and stimulating visuals
Language-rich interactions, like songs, fingerplays, and reading aloud
Motor skill activities, including grasping toys, reaching, and crawling support
Sensory experiences, such as water play, textured fabrics, and safe exploratory materials
One-on-one bonding routines, including feeding, diapering, and cuddling-viewed as moments to connect and build trust
Why Families Love It
Experience Baby provides not only a developmentally appropriate curriculum, but also daily communication tools that connect families to their baby's day. Through observation-based assessments and personal documentation, we ensure your child is seen, supported, and celebrated at every milestone.

Why Our Infant Room Doesn't Follow a Set Daily Schedule
At Scribbles Learning Center, we understand that infants thrive when their individual needs are met with consistency, love, and responsiveness. Unlike older children, infants are still developing regular patterns of sleeping, eating, and playing. For this reason, our infant classroom does not follow a rigid, one-size-fits-all schedule-and that's by design.
Instead, our teachers follow each baby's unique rhythm throughout the day. Feedings, naps, and playtime are tailored to your child's natural schedule, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
We use the Experience Baby Curriculum, which offers engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with each child's developmental stage. Teachers gently weave these activities into your baby's day-during alert times when they are ready to engage-without disrupting essential routines like feeding or rest.
By honoring each infant's schedule, we:
Promote healthy growth and development
Reduce stress and overstimulation
Encourage secure attachment and trust
Support individualized learning and exploration
Your baby is growing at their own pace, and we're here to support that journey-every step of the way.
Play-Based Learning for Babies
At Scribbles Learning Center in Wareham, babies learn best through warm relationships and play. Our infant program uses the Experience Curriculum: Baby framework plus responsive caregiving to build early brain connections, social-emotional skills, and a love of learning-without rigid schedules or worksheets.
What "Play-Based" Looks Like for Babies
Gentle, joyful experiences that build the brain:
Tummy time & sensory play: soft fabrics, high-contrast cards, rattles, and safe mirrors to develop vision, coordination, and curiosity.
Cause-and-effect exploration: grasping rings, pop-up toys, soft blocks, and simple containers to fill/dump.
Music & movement: fingerplays, calm dancing, scarves, rhythm instruments to support language and self-regulation.
Outdoor time: fresh air stroller walks and shaded blanket play to explore sights and sounds.
Language-rich routines: songs, narration, and "serve-and-return" conversations during diapering, feeding, and cuddles.
We follow each child's individual rhythm for feeding, naps, and play. Babies aren't on a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Starts in Infancy
Secure attachments are the foundation for kindergarten-and life. Our teachers:
Respond quickly to cues (hunger, tired, overstimulated).
Label feelings ("You're frustrated; the block fell. Let's try again.").
Coach early problem-solving and gentle turn-taking.
Create calm, predictable routines so babies feel safe and confident.
We adapt monthly themes from Experience Curriculum to the infant stage.
Language & Literacy: board books, photo cards, name recognition, babble-back conversations.
Math & Thinking: nesting cups, patterns with sounds and claps, simple sorting by feel/size.
Creative Arts: non-toxic sensory paints in sealed bags, crinkle paper collages, safe instruments.
Science & Nature: texture baskets (silk, cotton, sponge), water play in trays, watching leaves move.
How Play Today Prepares for Kindergarten Tomorrow
Through daily play and relationships, babies develop:
Self-regulation: soothing with teacher support → longer attention spans later.
Communication: joint attention, gestures, and early vocabulary → literacy readiness.
Motor skills: core strength, pincer grasp, hand-eye coordination → pre-writing skills.
Thinking skills: curiosity, cause-and-effect, persistence → problem-solving in school.
Confidence: secure attachment → willingness to try, explore, and connect with others
