Meet McKenzie!
Our Center Director & Official Chaos Coordinator!
While some people manage corporate offices, she will manage a building full of high energy toddlers, missing socks, and high stakes negotiations over the blue crayon. Armed with endless patience, professional peace keeping skills, and a lot of coffee, she will keep our Scribbles team sailing smoothly every single day!
We are so excited to welcome McKenzie as the Director of Scribbles! McKenzie brings with her a true passion for early childhood education, 12 years of experience, and a strong commitment to creating a positive, nurturing environment for children, families, and staff.
McKenzie has been working in the daycare field since 2014 and brings three years of experience as a daycare director. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with children of various ages and has developed a deep appreciation for the importance of providing children with a safe, loving, and engaging place to learn and grow. She is looking forward to getting to know all of the Scribbles children and families.
Outside of Scribbles, McKenzie enjoys going on nature walks, going to the beach, spending time with family, and visiting her horse. Horses have always been a big part of her life, she has been an equestrian since the age of eight and showing competitively! McKenzie is a boy mom, dog mom, and horse mom!
As our director, McKenzie is excited to support our children, families, and staff while helping create a welcoming, nurturing environment where everyone feels valued. She looks forward to building strong relationships with the everyone and make a positive difference each day.

Q &A with Melissa
Q: What inspired you to open Scribbles Learning Center?
A: After teaching for more than 20 years in kindergarten, special education, and ESL, I dreamed of creating a place where play,
family partnerships, and community come together. Scribbles is my way of building a center where children are celebrated for
exactly who they are.
Q: What's your teaching philosophy?
A: I believe in play-based learning because play is how children make sense of their world. I also focus on social-emotional learning (SEL) - helping children build confidence, friendships, and problem-solving skills. At Scribbles, we nurture the whole child - not just academics, but creativity, independence, and kindness.
Q: What's your favorite part about working with young children?
A: The joy of discovery! Watching a child's eyes light up when they master something new - whether it's building a tower, writing their name, or making a friend - is the best feeling in the world.
Q: What kind of background do you bring to Scribbles?
A: I've spent over 20 years teaching kindergarten, working in special education, and providing ESL support for children learning English. Those experiences taught me that every child learns differently, and that's why individualized, play-based learning is so important.
Q: What's your favorite children's book?
A: The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt - it's playful, creative, and reminds us that every child (and every crayon!) has something unique to offer.
Q: What can families expect from Scribbles under your leadership?
A: Families can expect a caring, inclusive, and joyful environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Scribbles is more than childcare - it's a community, and I can't wait to welcome you into it!
Meet Our Health Care Consultant
✨ Welcome to the Scribbles Family, Amanda! ✨
We are SO excited to officially welcome Amanda Brown to the Scribbles family!
Amanda spends her days working in a pediatric practice, helping moms and dads feel calm, confident, and supported when it comes to their kiddos-and that same empathy, compassion, and integrity are exactly what she brings to Scribbles.
On a personal note, Amanda has cared for my three kiddos since the day they were born. She has been there for me through every question, concern, and "is this normal?" moment. She very quickly earned the nickname "Hey Nurse"-because anytime she sees that message pop up, she knows someone in my house is sick and I need guidance.
She's a devoted mama, a woman whose faith guides her heart, and a total animal lover to her pup Bentley and cat Lucy (because every great team needs furry coworkers, right? 🐾).
Amanda is a wonderful addition to our team, and I am incredibly lucky to have this amazing woman in my corner-and most importantly, to have her overseeing a program where you place your trust every single day.
