Experience Preschool Curriculum at Scribbles Learning Center

For Children Ages 3-5 Years

Our preschoolers at Scribbles Learning Center are active thinkers, problem-solvers, and budding social beings. The Experience Preschool™ curriculum offers a robust, research-informed early learning program that prepares children not only for kindergarten-but for a lifetime of learning.

Engaging, Child-Centered Themes
Each month, children dive into rich, interdisciplinary themes like "Weather & Seasons," "Ocean Exploration," or "Community Jobs." These themes integrate literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts-offering hands-on projects and play that make abstract concepts come to life.

Key components include:

  • Creative arts and STEAM projects that foster problem-solving and expression

  • Alphabet and early writing experiences through journals, name recognition, and phonemic awareness

  • Math foundations like counting, sorting, patterning, and basic measurement

  • Science inquiry, using real-world materials to ask questions and make predictions

  • Social-emotional skill building through cooperative games, role-play, and conflict resolution

  • Outdoor learning, encouraging gross motor development and nature exploration

Assessment & Kindergarten Readiness
Educators observe and document progress using integrated assessment tools aligned with early learning standards. We help children develop the self-regulation, attention, and academic readiness needed for kindergarten and future school success.

Where Joy and Learning Meet
Experience Preschool creates an environment where children feel safe to take risks, make friends, and grow intellectually and emotionally. At Scribbles, we foster not just school readiness, but lifelong learners who are confident, curious, and compassionate.

Preparing Children for Kindergarten Success

At Scribbles Learning Center, we know that kindergarten readiness is about much more than ABCs and 123s. Children need strong social-emotional skills, a love of learning, and the confidence to explore new ideas. That's why our preschool program uses the Experience Curriculum, blending play-based learning with school readiness activities that prepare every child for a smooth transition to kindergarten.

Play-Based Learning Builds Strong Foundations

Preschoolers at Scribbles learn through play, exploration, and discovery. Whether they're building towers, role-playing in the dramatic play area, or experimenting with art materials, children are developing the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they'll carry into kindergarten.

Play-based learning helps children:

  • Strengthen fine motor skills needed for writing.

  • Practice early math concepts like sorting, counting, and patterns.

  • Develop creativity, imagination, and flexible thinking.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Matters Most

We believe kindergarten readiness begins with strong social skills. Scribbles teachers guide children in sharing, cooperating, and communicating feelings - skills that are just as important as knowing letters and numbers.

Through group projects, circle time, and everyday routines, children learn to:

  • Make friends and work together as a team.

  • Solve problems peacefully.

  • Build confidence and independence.

Experience Curriculum = Ready for School, Ready for Life

Our preschool classrooms follow the Experience Curriculum, which integrates literacy, math, science, and art into engaging themes. Teachers weave academic concepts into meaningful play experiences so children naturally build skills without pressure.

Examples include:

  • Literacy through story play → retelling stories with puppets and props.

  • Math through cooking → measuring, counting, and sequencing steps.

  • Science through outdoor exploration → observing nature, asking questions, testing ideas.

How Scribbles Prepares Your Child for Kindergarten

When it's time for the big transition to kindergarten, Scribbles children leave with:

  • Early literacy skills (recognizing letters, writing their names).

  • Early math skills (counting, shapes, patterns).

  • Social-emotional confidence (making friends, following routines).

  • A love of learning that lasts.

At Scribbles Learning Center, we believe preparing children for kindergarten means nurturing the whole child - mind, heart, and body. Through play, social-emotional learning, and the Experience Curriculum, we help children grow into confident learners ready for school and beyond.
